Tony Hsieh is Zappos CEO and the author of the #1 NYT Bestseller "Delivering Happiness".
In 1999, at the age of 24, Tony Hsieh sold LinkExchange, the company he co- founded, to Microsoft for $265 million. He then joined Zappos as an advisor and investor, and eventually became CEO, where he helped Zappos grow from almost no sales to over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales annually, while simultaneously making Fortune Magazine's annual "Best Companies to Work For" list.
Tony shows how a very different kind of corporate culture is a powerful model for achieving success and happiness.
In this Summit talk Tony's shares:
- The #1 priority for Zappos is company culture, and that their whole belief is that if we get the culture right, all the other stuff - like delivering great customer service or building a long-term enduring brand or business - will just be a natural by-product of that.
- Tony's vision for "The Downtown Project" to help create a place where you have everything you need to live, work, and play within walking distance to be the co-learning and co-working capital in the world.
- Focusing on three "C's", collisions, co-learning, and community leads to a happier and luckier community while innovation and productivity increases.
